Hooked on Doing it Right

Respectful, responsible fishing from trap to table.

Our Catch, Our Commitment

At Minnow, our seafood isn't just fresh—it's caught with care. We're proud to operate our very own pound trap located in the Peconic Bay. This method allows us to harvest seafood in the most sustainable and respectful way possible.

What's a Pound Trap?

Pound traps are ingenious and low-impact. Fish swim naturally along the shoreline until they meet a guiding net, the leader, which gently diverts them into deeper water and into a holding area called the heart. From there, they enter the pound, where they live stress-free, like in an aquarium, until our team scoops out only the fish we need, by hand. The rest are safely released, unharmed.

Our Catching Methods

We only source our seafood using trap, line, spear, or hand.
That means:

- No dragging.
-No damage to the ocean floor.
-No bykill.

BLACKFISH

Blackfish is a (what it tastes like and the texture. also what dish it may be featured in.)

Why it Matters

An estimated 2 billion pounds of bycatch, or more accurately, bykill, is tossed overboard dead or dying or dying each year in the U.S. We're doing our part to change that, one fish at a time.

Transparency & Traceability

We believe our guests should know exactly where their food comes from. At Minnow, we're committed to full transparency. Have a question about our fish? Ask us. We're proud to tell you how, where, and when it was caught.

Minnow isn't just a place to eat, it's a place to connect with the waters that feed us. From the trap to the plate, our seafood is a love letter to the ocean, and a promise to treat it with care.
